A man dreaming of rebellion finds others like him in a society so controlling that even thoughts are forbidden and prosecuted by reprogramming and crushing the spirit.

This book was required reading in high school. Another classic that I did not really enjoy. I just hate it when there is no recourse, and the bad guy wins!
